Ground-breaking SCAN Health platform enables knowledge sharing to advance healthcare supply chain innovation

October 18, 2018 – The Supply Chain Advancement Network in Health (SCAN Health) launches a knowledge mobilization (KM) platform that delivers an interactive, online learning environment for collaborators around the world to share, engage and discuss best practices in supply chain processes for health systems. The goal of the KM platform is to accelerate the transformation of health system supply chain into a strategic asset that achieves safer and sustainable healthcare across global jurisdictions.

“The expectation of SCAN Health is to mobilize supply chain knowledge, leading to safer and higher performing healthcare environments and realizing value for patients, health system sustainability and economic growth for companies. The KM platform is designed to do exactly that,” said Mr. Jean Saint-Vil, Associate Vice-President, Networks of Centres of Excellence.

SCAN Health’s KM platform provides online forums, learning material and dynamic tools to engage partners across international borders to come together on key priorities, share knowledge and build collaborative partnerships. Current users of the KM platform are the founding partners of SCAN Health including industry experts, clinicians, health system leaders, citizens, academics and policy makers across North America, Europe and Australia.

“There is much we can learn from one another across our various disciplines and global jurisdictions. It is critical we share new findings, innovative breakthroughs, successes and also our failures,” says Dr. Anne Snowdon, CEO and Scientific Director of SCAN Health. “The KM platform enables us to capitalize on our learnings by sharing successes to achieve value-based outcomes in the health sector and for our citizens.”

The public can access the KM platform to share their expertise and insights on key challenges and priorities for global populations. To access the KM platform please visit: km.scanhealth.ca.

The KM platform is one of five strategic initiatives that SCAN Health is committed to delivering with support from their funder, the Government of Canada’s Networks of Centres of Excellence, and their host institution, the Odette School of Business based at the University of Windsor.

SCAN Health is dedicated to advancing global capacity to adopt and scale best practices in healthcare supply chain to offer traceability of products and care processes from bench to bedside to patient outcomes.
